I'm 20 yrs old. But I like dating older men, late twenties, early 30s. I seem to have a lot in common with them. Well I met this guy and he told me he was 29. We went out for coffee, and then we went to his house where we just sat and talked for half the night. I don't think I've ever met anyone who I could talk to as freely as we talked. there was never an awkward silence. it was very refreshing. We have a ton in common, he seems like a nice guy, he's got a great job, he's ambitious, he's got a lot of qualities I've been looking for in a man. But then I went home and he had told me he had a myspace so I looked him up on there and it says he is 33. I wouldn't have a problem with him being that age, and I think he knows that because we discussed the whole "age is just a number" deal. It's hard for me to trust people, but I've lied about my age before too. Should I give him a chance anyway and just ask him why he lied, or should that be a sign to say this is a bad idea?

no relationship should ever start out as a lie. This will only end in disaster and you hurt. Sorry but relationships are based on trust and if you can't start with honesty and trust then there is no hope.

Seriously, the way to think of it is that he liked you so much and wanted to talk to you and be with you so much that he lied about his age so you'd think he was worthy. Doesn't that make it seem so much better? :P

Sometimes, lies can be forgiven if you understand the reason. Ask him why he thought he needed to lie to you about such a trivial thing, and reassure him that, in the future, you can be trusted with the truth.

Yes give him another chance. You are only 20 and he was probably intimidated by your youth that he felt maybe you wouldn't like if at the age he actually is. Dont sweat the small stuff...there are so many other crazy things in life that can mess up a relationship.

You're reading way too much into it, the man liked you so he told a small lie about his age. Hell, you even admitted to lying about your age before. The way I see it is you need to see where it goes. Are you really ready to throw away a good relationship with this man for a simple lie. Yea you may have trust issues, but who doesn't it. Give him the benefit of the doubt and then see where it goes.
