Do any other ladies think it's unattractive when a guy shows off his car?

I was just on myspace and was thinking about how odd it is that some guys have their CAR as their default profile picture. And it got me to thinking about some guys will take any average car and try to put cool rims on it and sound systems and the whole nine yards, and I literally have to stifle my laughter. I'd be embarassed to date a guy like that! I personally appreciate a nice car, but NOT a ridiculous one (yeah, biiiig difference!!). I'm kinda into the jeep/SUV guy myself, but any car that isn't specifically intended to attract attention would be okay.

Any thoughts, girls?

yes!!!! it is obnoxious and its not that they are trying to get our attention it's just that it's some macho thing a.k.a Testosterone. I am also into the jeep/SUV guy. Shows that they are adventurous.

It isnt a turn off but it def isnt a turn on. There can be SUPER lame guys who try to show off their cars (which to be honest is waht I initiailly think of guys wiht ridic cars and all), but sometimes you actually meet the guy and he can be super nice. But in general yes, it is ridiculous and does nothing for me. It actually makes me think they have a complex or something. I could care less about your car, its more important that they are nice or gentlemanly, funny, etc.

I think guys like that are pompous and love to brag their things. Sure, a nice car is great, but not when he is constantly showing you the newest soundsystem he had installed. Yeah, I totally agree. It's laughable when guys do this! %26lt;3

I have a lot of guy friends with nice cars. Like I mean they are really nice. A Mazda RX-7, the drifter car, a Mustang GT, etc... and I personally love it when they show those off because I'm usually the cool chick with them that actually knows something about cars.

But as for "souping up" a sh!t car, that's totally different unless they know what there doing and they can back up the exterior with what's under their hoods.

i think it's a bit fickle, but unfortunatly some girls like guys because of their cars, shows their monetary status. On the otherhand, a guy may genuinly be into cars, and not be showing of, in which case, he's probably cool.

I dontlike pretty boys trying to get attention and i dont like guys who pump m uscles trying to get anything he wants and no i dont like guys who think their cars will make a girl feel special.. the ride and the looks of muscles is all to cool. but to make a girl feel special comes from the guys true heart not his toys... toys come later when both get them... together... or share them together. personality looks and sparks is what works on a girl....I been told many times im hot looking, ao i dont care im still going to look for the b ig golden heart that pumps warm blood....

Not really. I guy fixing up his car is just a mans hobby! Just like us ladies who love to go shopping, get our nails done and hair done. Sometimes we pay more attention to ourselves then our men. Just like how they do their cars. Let the men show off your car that way they dont have to be in our face all the time! Worrying about every move we make.

I'm with Rio (and often I might add). Although I also have to say that the men I would be interested in wouldn't be on "myspace" either, but then I'm probably a bit older than you are.

The point being, that a man who has to market a "thing" in place of his character is showing a definite lack of confidence ( and some immaturity if he is there looking for a relationship) which I find much more telling than the lack of a decent car.
