Guys see things as, staying in their own group of friends, and his friends probably spread a rumor about him liking someone for the fun of it, my friends do it to me all the time. Being "popular" has nothing to do with it, who the Hell cares what social standing it's in, it's all a game. if you really liked him you wouln't care what group he's in. Plus if he was a decint guy he would at least notice you as someone. I would talk to your friends or just concider the thought. If you trust rumors stay with their flow. It would depend on your type of person. If your shy then "glance" and take a smother route. If your "popular" don't even think off going out. and if you "not" popular to others don't care about any thing says and do it your own way. I hope this helped!
